Annual Heroes Award &
La Festa della Repubblica

Each year, the Filitalia Foundation, the 501(c)(3) charitable arm of Filitalia International, proudly hosts the Annual Heroes Award in conjunction with La Festa della Repubblica, Italy’s national holiday celebrating the birth of the Italian Republic.

This signature event honors outstanding individuals who exemplify leadership, integrity, and service — those who have made meaningful contributions to Italian heritage, cultural preservation, community service, and public life in the United States and around the world.

The celebration is held on the first Sunday in June at the M. Fabrizio & P. Nestico Center for Language & Culture in Philadelphia, home of the History of Italian Immigration Museum. The afternoon features a formal awards presentation, distinguished guest speakers, buffet dining, and a vibrant community celebration.

Proceeds from the event directly support the Filitalia Foundation’s cultural and educational initiatives, including the History of Italian Immigration Museum, scholarship programs, Italian language programs, and humanitarian efforts.

Call For Nominations From Chapters

The Filitalia Foundation is now accepting nominations for this year’s Heroes Award. We invite each Chapter to submit the name of an individual who embodies the spirit of service, dedication to Italian culture, and a positive impact on their community. We identify and celebrate 10-12 “Heroes” from all over the world that have exemplified excellence in their field. 50-100+ people both in person and internationally online.

Help us recognize those who uphold the values of Umiltà, Giustizia, Onestà and continue to strengthen Italian-American pride across generations.

Heroes Award Selection Criteria

Chapters must send the resolution approving the nomination by the Board of Directors, the candidate’s curriculum vitae, and a photograph of the candidate.
